Porto
Meet at the airport in Porto and van transfer to Hotel in Porto. After a light lunch you will explore the Douro river on a small boat from which you will enjoy close-up views of the Port wine vineyards planted on terraces along the river´s shores. Back in Pinhão you can just relax by your inns outdoor pool. Quinta Nova produces high quality table wines and has a wine shop.

Sabrosa | Régua
Transfer to Sabrosa. Short ride with great views of the Port wine vineyards planted on terraces that are UNESCO World Heritage. The route is mostly downhill so you can enjoy the superb views of the Douro Valley, with the vineyards and the Douro River. You can stop at Quinta Nova after a short climb from the Douro River or in Pinhão. In the afternoon you can visit the Douro Museum in Régua. Transfer to hotel.

Loop Marialva | Trancoso
Today you will ride on the way to the town of Trancoso, another Historical Village of Portugal. Expect some climbing but also breathtaking views, passing by Moreira de Rei with its castle. The old part of Trancoso is built inside the majestic city walls and is definitely worth a visit. On the way back pass by several small typical villages such as Souto Maior, Vila Franca das Naves and Pinhel.

Marialva | Castelo Rodrigo | Barca d'alva
Today you will connect two Historical Villages – Marialva and Castelo Rodrigo. These two medieval walled villages will take you back in time, to when the brave inhabitants of these villages fought against the Spanish invaders. Enjoy great views of Port Wine vineyards along the bicycle route that takes you to Barca de Alva. Transfer back to hotel.

Serra da Estrela | Tower
Transfer to Manteigas. Pass through the Zêzere's glacial valley, one of the largest in Europe, by climbing to Torre, the highest point in mainland Portugal (1993 m | 6538 mi). You can witness the granite mountain landscape of the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela. Already towards the clean air of Penhas Douradas you will visit Sabugueiro, known as the "highest village of Portugal" (1100 m | 3600 ft) dominated by waterfalls and beautiful views.

Penhas Douradas | Ponte das Três Entradas
On this route you will leave Serra da Estrela pedalling through a breathtaking descent where you will pass from an altitude of 1650 m | 5413 ft to 235 m | 770 ft You can enjoy its stunning views, the granite massifs with curious shapes and the transition of the granitic region for the schist region. Visit Vide, a very small and isolated village dating back to the late Upper Paleolithic age. The final part of the route goes along the Alvoco river where you will go through the pretty village of Varzeas de Alvoco with an imposing medieval bridge and a waterfront zone with a river beach.

This is a resting day on which you can enjoy the facilities that the hotel has to offer, such as the SPA or the pool. And if you wish you can ride a small path around the hotel.

SKYROAD SERRA DA ESTRELA
This is the day of the big event, the Skyroad Serra da Estrela Grandfondo (130 km | 80 mi) or Mediodonfo (77 km | 47 mi). The basis of this event is to provide the experience of living and feeling the excitement of a big mountain stage, pedaling at your own pace, with logistics up to a great cycling event. You will be pedalling along the highest mountain of Continental Portugal (1993m | 6539 ft.).
